Check-Up & Parade
Last week I went to the doctor for a physical. In fact,I scheduled
2 appointments with different physicians to get a second opinion if
needed. My first check-up was in Flemington, New Jersey, and the second in Allentown, Pennslyvania. The result was the same they
agreed that I was in great shape.
On Saturday, our studio participated in the 2nd Annual High Bridge
Community Day Parade. This year vintage cars, and fire trucks were the attraction. Our students performed a demo that was well received by the crowd. After the parade, we marched down to the park
where they had rides & games for the kids.

Switch On
I began today at 5:00 am and jumped a few hours before breakfast and arrived at the dojo
to teach saturday's class. There is something special about awaking before the sun rises
and getting a head start on your day. Every day we have the opportunity to learn to make
the next day better, but that decision is truely up to the person.
We have the power all we have to do is turn on the switch with our minds. Failure to follow
through without turning the switch on simply means we are experiencing a power failure.
So we must discover our true power through life's difficult challenges and learn to operate
our minds in trying times. The question is will you pass your daily tests? ...
A problem is a chance for you to do your best

Sprints
Hey,
Yesterday, I went to North Hunterdon Regional High School to perform some wind sprints on the track & run the bleachers for endurance. When I got home I rode the life cycle for a couple of hours, and tipped it off with some stretching exercises.
I spoke with Alex the webmaster for the "Feat Of Strength" website so we can meet to update
the site.

Greetings,
Everything is lining up and coming together. A new company is sponsoring my gear to wear for the Feat Of Strength event in October. The company is "BergWear" TM, designs and sells performance base layers for all sports. I have been training with the gear and it's great. It expels moisture away from the body and after hours of jumping rope this is a good feature to
have for the athlete. Be sure to check out their website.
Today Our Karate Studio participated in "Grow A Row" program. Parents and students volunteered by working on a farm picking potatoes for local food banks in Hunterdon County. We had a good time and appreciated the opportunity to help. Students learned quite a bit about agriculture. I would like to say it was also a good work-out for everyone bending and choosing the good potatoes from the bad ones, filling our sacks & carrying the heavy sack to the next row.
When the farmers weighed the sacks, we picked over 4,800 pounds of potatoes !!!
So the kids will remember "Grow A Row" the next time they buy a bag of chips, or order french fries. These are great life lessons for the soul!
PS. Please mark your calenders for October 18, & 19 2008
God Bless
